HELLO MOON HELLO MOON (insect drone and chirp) Listen to the crickets! (laughter) Headlights, anonymous fallen stars . . . (the roar of the Mac trucks) On the highway . . . (the wind from their passage) Just a few yards away. (blows our hair into tangles) The long grass of summer (scurry of small animal) Is soft . . . (the night is rich with the scent of life) And the banks of this ditch . . . (something's poking in my ribs!) Are dry and just right . . . (hoot of owl) For watching stars.
